Paints or coatings​ are a chemical mixture that firmly covers a surface for protection, decoration, signage and other purposes. It is generally composed of four parts: film-forming substances, fillers (pigments and fillers), solvents, and additives. The composition may vary slightly depending on performance requirements. Kemox Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) is a nonionic cellulose ether and has been specifically modified to be applied in a wide range of applications from waterborne architectural coatings, to emulsion protective colloids for polymerization. Kemox HEC improves paint color compatibility to better accept spray, brush, and roller colors. HEC has good workability, prevents paint splatter and improves sag resistance. It also maintains sustainable levels of settling during paint storage, ensuring extended shelf life.
